Prototype Machining Auckland

Circle Line Engineering supports prototype machining in Auckland using CNC milling, CNC turning, conventional turning and engineering design capabilities.

Prototype to Production

We machine prototype components on CNC mills, CNC lathes and conventional lathes at our Ōtāhuhu workshop in Auckland, with design support available when needed. Precision engineering since 1994.

What We Cover

Prototype machining

We machine prototype components to help validate form, fit and manufacturing approach before repeat production. For suitable work, machining tolerances can be held within 0.01 mm.

One-off work

The workshop is set up to handle one-off engineering jobs as well as repeat production.

Design and partner processes

SolidWorks design support is available when a project needs additional development before manufacture, and specialist partners can provide heat treatment, precision grinding and other processes where required.

Common project questions
What tolerance can you hold on prototype components?

For suitable prototype work, we can hold in-house machining tolerances within 0.01 mm and work accurately to drawings specified using GD&T.

Can you help develop a prototype in SolidWorks before machining?

Yes. Our engineering design service uses SolidWorks for 3D modelling and detailed drawings, allowing design development to be coordinated with prototype machining.

Can specialist finishing processes be included in a prototype project?

Yes. Where required, we can coordinate partner processes such as precision grinding, heat treatment and other specialist processing alongside in-house machining.

Can a prototype progress into repeat production?

Yes. The same workshop supports both prototype work and repeat production, allowing the manufacturing approach to develop as quantities and project requirements change.

Discuss your project with our Auckland workshop

Send drawings, dimensions, quantities and project requirements, and our team can review the requirements and confirm the most suitable manufacturing approach.
